Victoria Mutual celebrates 130 Years

Richard K. Powell (right), President & CEO, Victoria Mutual, and other members of the Victoria Mutual Family join in the worship service to commemorate VMBS’ 130th Anniversary recently at The Kingston Parish Church. VMBS’ history is tied to the Kingston Parish Church through the church's late clergyman, Rector G.W. Downer, who along with a group of other clergymen formed The Victoria Mutual Building Society (VMBS) on November 14, 1878. Their vision was to transform Jamaican savers into homeowners; 130 years later, Victoria Mutual has expanded its services to include wealth management; money transfer; general insurance and real estate services. The Society's anniversary celebrations included two church services, the other was held at St. George's Anglican Church in Savanna-la-mar; a Long Service Awards Ceremony to honour its Team Members and Customer Appreciation Day at each local branch and Representative Offices in the United Kingdom and North America.
