Kathya Beckford, BSc (First Class Honours), MSc (Distinction)
Ms. Kathya Beckford joined the Victoria Mutual Group in 2012 with over 12 years of experience in the financial industry. She joined as a Senior Manager in the organisation’s Group Strategy Unit, and played an integral role in the implementation of special projects for the Group.
On September 1, 2016, Ms. Beckford was appointed to the post of Group Chief Strategy Officer. As Group Chief Strategy Officer, Ms. Beckford is responsible for leading the strategic planning process, creating alignment around the vision of the organisation, ensuring that Team Members’ activities are in line with the Group’s strategic direction, assessing the feasibility of new products and business opportunities, and providing support on the execution of various initiatives.
Prior to joining the Victoria Mutual team, Ms. Beckford worked with Jamaica Money Market Brokers Limited and Guardian Asset Management Limited (now PROVEN). At those entities, her roles related to Risk Management.
Ms. Beckford holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science (with First Class Honours) from the University of the West Indies and a Master of Science degree in International Securities, Investment and Banking (with Distinction) from the University of Reading, England. She is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
Ms. Beckford is a Rotarian, and enjoys travelling and various sporting activities.
